This 1984 Tokai Love Rock single cut electric guitar is a fine example of classic Japanese craftsmanship from an era when Tokai was producing instruments that rattled the global market.

This guitar is in good, played condition, showing honest signs of use and age that tell a story of years spent making music… The frets have seen some wear and the guitar has been professionally re-fretted at some unknown point during its lifetime, ensuring solid playability and a smooth feel up and down the neck. The original inlays appear to have been replaced, offering a slightly unique aesthetic compared to stock models. The nut has been swapped out, there’s a small split in the neck pickup ring. Cosmetic blemishes include impact marks and surface wear on the headstock face, along with a touch up to the finish around the neck joint area due to some cosmetic damage. The back of the guitar shows typical buckle rash and surface marring, with some small impressions and play marks across the body, reflecting fair wear and tear for a guitar of its age.

Notably, there’s also a modification made to the electronics. A switch on the back panel goes from ‘Gary Moore’ to ‘Peter Green’ - switching the phase on the neck pickup, allowing for the famous out-of-phase-tone heard on ‘Need Your Love So Bad’ and more from Greens catalogue.
