This 1981 Fender Lead I has lived a life and it shows in all the right ways. Born during Fender’s bold early ’80s experiment with stripped down rock machines, this guitar delivers a raw, road-ready tone that rewards players who crave character over perfection. It’s been refinished - no glossy showroom varnish here - so what you see is honest wear, not artificial relic’ing.

The original single humbucker setup has been modified with a neck pickup of unknown make, adding warmth and versatility without losing the aggressive edge that made the Lead series famous. There’s some fret wear, a few mismatched ferrules on the back and plenty of dings and dents earned the hard way. Yet it plays smoothly, sounds alive and feels like a guitar that wants to be played, not pampered.
