The double bound 60s Custom has always been a beloved incarnation of the Tele and this Fender Japan model makes it easy to see why. With its classic sunburst finish, bound body and unmistakably vintage-inspired styling, it has plenty of old-school Tele attitude.
The previous owner has made an attempt at taking back much of the original gloss to create a more satin feel. The effect varies across the guitar, with some areas noticeably more satin than others, making this model unsuited to collectors. There are also a few small dings and impressions from use, although nothing large or particularly unsightly. The frets show some wear consistent with its history. This is very much a used example but with considerably more personality than a pristine, untouched example.
The pickups have been upgraded to a set of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders, a punchy pair of single coils that provide all the desirable tele-twang with extra power; pushing amps harder and cutting through the mix with ease.
