Three Distinct Voicings
The 250-X’s 3-position toggle switch offers instant access to a trio of distinct tonal characters:
- Silicon (Up) – Classic symmetrical silicon diode clipping for the original, odd-harmonic-rich 250 sound.
- Lift (Middle) – Removes diode clipping entirely, delivering a clean boost at low gains or a dirty boost as the op-amp clips naturally at higher gain settings.
- Asym (Down) – Adds asymmetrical clipping for a smoother, even-harmonic-driven overdrive with enhanced warmth and character.
