The D’Angelico Excel delivers classic jazz tone in a beautifully appointed hollowbody. With its laminated spruce top, flamed maple back and sides, ebony fingerboard and signature Stairstep tailpiece, it captures the spirit of traditional big box jazz guitars with some distinctive visual flair. The floating neck humbucker produces warm, rounded lows, smooth mids and a sweet, articulate top end; ideal for chord melody, comping or fluid lead lines.

This example is in great used condition. There’s some fret wear in the lower positions consistent with regular playing and a single ding on the front beside the neck on the bass side. Aside from that, only light surface swirling and gentle handling marks are visible. It presents very well overall and remains structurally sound and resonant.

Comfortable in the lap or on a strap, the 25.5" scale gives it snap and clarity, while the hollow construction offers that unmistakable airy bloom.
