The Ibanez JEM7V isn’t a guitar that needs introducing. The iconic and instantly recognisable Steve Vai signature model has been long cemented as one of the definitive modern shred machines; it’s fast, fluid and unapologetically expressive. Made in Japan and built to be pushed to its limits. This one has clearly lived the life it was designed for.

Finished in classic white with the unmistakable monkey grip, gold hardware and Tree of Life inlay, it still delivers everything that made the JEM legendary. The neck is effortlessly quick, the Edge trem remains a masterclass in stability and feel, and the DiMarzio pickup configuration covers everything from glassy cleans to saturated lead tones with ease.

Condition wise, this is very much a played example. There’s some fret wear, tarnishing to the hardware, notable buckle rash to the back, dings to the tip of the headstock and a few chips and scuffs around the body edges. There’s also a small knock below the bridge on the front and the rear back plate is missing. None of it takes away from what matters most, this guitar still feels alive in the hands and meets the demands of guitars most accomplished virtuosos.
