The Gibson Les Paul Gothic stands apart from the crowd, combining classic Les Paul power with a darker, stripped-back aesthetic; making it a cult favourite among rock and metal players. This 2000 example has lived an interesting life and is best suited to someone who values tone and playability over pristine cosmetics.

An amateur refinish means it falls well short of collector grade, with plenty of visible imperfections throughout. Scratch lines remain from the original finish removal, while bubbling, flecking, bumps, drip marks and masking tape lines are all evident on close inspection. The upside is that you can own a genuine USA made Les Paul at a fraction of the price of a cleaner example, without worrying about adding the odd knock or ding along the way.

The guitar plays well, with only light fret wear concentrated in the lower positions. A Seymour Duncan bridge pickup delivers a more aggressive tone, making it an excellent choice for heavy riffs, soaring leads and higher-gain tones.
