The Importance of Body Shape
Faith PJE Legacy Series guitars are built entirely around Patrick James Eggle’s historic acoustic body designs. The Earth body shape is based on Patrick’s original Linville design and draws inspiration from classic Orchestra Models of the past.
With a 15 inch lower bout, similar in width to the Venus model, the Earth features more refined contours and a carefully balanced profile. This makes it a true all rounder, offering strong unplugged performance while remaining comfortable for extended use on stage by players of any stature.
What Is Torrefied Wood
To complement the elegant design, the Sitka spruce top undergoes a torrefaction process to accelerate the natural ageing of the tonewood. The spruce is first air dried to reduce moisture content, then carefully roasted in a kiln with precise control of oxygen levels. After roasting, a controlled amount of moisture is reintroduced to stabilise the wood at an ideal humidity level.
This process alters the cellular structure of the wood, increasing stability and producing a deeper colouration. More importantly, it allows the tonewood to behave like a much older instrument, delivering enhanced resonance, quicker response, and a rich, mature voice from day one.
Tonewoods And Tonal Character
The FG4 pairs a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top with solid African mahogany back and sides. This classic tonewood combination is renowned for its balance of clarity, warmth, and dynamic range.
The torrefied spruce top provides enhanced projection, harmonic complexity, and a played in character, while the mahogany adds warmth, focus, and a smooth, woody midrange. Together, they produce a refined and expressive sound suited to a wide range of playing styles.
Premium Appointments And Finish
A satin sunburst finish allows the natural beauty of the torrefied spruce to shine through, while solid flamed maple binding adds elegant contrast and subtle visual depth. Ebony fittings are used throughout, including the fingerboard, bridge, and pickguard, ensuring durability and tonal consistency. Bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins maximise sustain and resonance.
Electronics
The Fishman Flex T Blend system combines an undersaddle piezo pickup with an internal condenser microphone. This dual source design delivers a natural and expressive amplified sound, allowing players to blend clarity and body resonance for a realistic acoustic tone when plugged in.
Included Hardcase
The Faith PJE Legacy FG4 is supplied with a high quality ABS moulded hardcase. Designed to protect your instrument from knocks, temperature changes, and humidity, it is recommended that the guitar is stored in its case whenever not in use.
