Epiphone

Used Epiphone Guitars

Epiphone has one of the longest histories in the guitar industry, with roots stretching back well over a century. Today, the name is closely associated with some of the world's most recognisable guitar designs, as well as instruments that are distinctly Epiphone. At Absolute Music, our Epiphone offering is focused on used and second hand instruments, so the models shown on this page reflect the guitars currently available rather than a fixed new-product catalogue.

Second hand Epiphone Electric Guitars

Electric guitars form a major part of the Epiphone story, with Les Paul and SG models among the best-known examples. The brand has produced countless variations of these designs over the years, covering different pickups, finishes, hardware and specifications. This makes the second hand market particularly interesting, as two Epiphone guitars carrying the same familiar model name can be quite different depending on their age and specification. Older production runs, artist models and limited editions can also occasionally appear alongside more familiar versions.

Used Epiphone Bass Guitars

Epiphone basses occupy an interesting corner of the second hand market, particularly models based around some of the brand's more distinctive historic designs. Short-scale and vintage-inspired instruments sit alongside more conventional bass configurations, giving Epiphone a bass catalogue with plenty of personality. Used examples tend to appear less frequently than the brand's six-string guitars, which can make an unusual model especially worth a closer look when one arrives.

The Appeal of Buying a Used Epiphone

Price is certainly one reason to consider a second hand Epiphone, but it isn't the only one. The used market gives guitarists access to previous generations, discontinued finishes and specifications that aren't necessarily represented by today's models. An instrument may also already have the small marks and signs of use that come naturally with regular playing, which can be preferable for anyone who wants a guitar they can simply pick up and enjoy without worrying about keeping it pristine. For enthusiasts, the production year and factory can add another interesting dimension to the search.

A Constantly Changing Used Epiphone Collection

Our used Epiphone selection is shaped entirely by the instruments that arrive through trade-ins and pre-owned purchases, so the range is always evolving. Some weeks may bring several Les Paul models, while others could include semi-hollow guitars, acoustics or rarer limited editions. Because every guitar is unique to our second hand collection, it's always worth checking back regularly to see the latest arrivals. The appeal of pre-owned instruments is that there's often something unexpected waiting to be discovered.
