The new Korg Monotron Duo features two analogue oscillators with individual tunings. This adds an extra dimension of harmonic possibilities. When tuned in unison, they can create fat, rich analogue tones and when tuned in intervals they can create classic soloing tones or filthy lead effects.
The X-MOD circuit, taken from Korg's classic Mono/poly allows you to add a mild or razor sharp edge to your sound. It can produce everything from a rich vibrato to an extreme metallic edge, reminiscent of an FM synth.
The Monotron Duo has a new improved ribbon controller with the Scale function from the KAOSSILATOR. Select from a Chromatic, Major or Minor scale to make the keyboard more accurate.
The filter circuit of the Monotron Duo is taken directly from the legendary MS-10 and MS-20 semi-modular synths. Released over 30 years ago, this filter is still loved today for its aggressive and dynamic sound. A powerful filter is a feature that sets any synth apart from its rivals, and the Monotron Duo is no exception.
The filter can be used with other sounds and instruments too. The Monotron Duo has an auxiliary input fitted where you can route other sound sources directly before the analogue filter. This lets you run any sound source through the Monotron Duo's filter effects.
A speaker is built into the Monotron Duo, and coupled with battery operation and its compact size, this makes it truly portable. The headphone jack allows you play in private or even connect to a recorder or pa system.
