Whether laying down solid foundations or delivering complex, expressive lines, this five string bass offers the playability and tonal versatility needed to create distinctive and memorable grooves.
Main Features
Roasted Maple Neck
The roasted maple neck is heat treated to improve stability, durability, and resistance to moisture and temperature changes. This ensures consistent performance and a comfortable feel in any environment.
Rosewood Fretboard
The rosewood fretboard delivers a well balanced, solid tone with a focused mid range, offering warmth and clarity that complements a wide range of playing styles.
Medium Stainless Steel Frets
Medium stainless steel frets provide long lasting durability and a smooth playing surface, ensuring reliable performance and precise articulation over time.
Poplar Burl Top and Alder Body
The poplar burl top adds a striking visual character, while the alder body delivers a bright, well balanced tone with enhanced resonance and sustain.
Delta S5J Pickups
Delta S5J pickups offer crisp high end attack, full and punchy mids, and a tight, powerful low end. They perform exceptionally well with a wide variety of amplifiers and effects in both live and studio environments.
Ibanez Sonitech S Preamp with 3 Band EQ
The Sonitech S preamp is carefully voiced across the full frequency spectrum and features two selectable three band mid range banks alongside a passive tone control. This provides exceptional tonal flexibility with intuitive operation.
3 Way Mid Frequency Switch with Hexa Mid System
The Hexa Mid system allows access to two mid range banks, each offering three distinct frequency points. This gives a total of six selectable mid frequencies, making it easy to fine tune your bass tone.
EQ Bypass Switch
The push pull EQ bypass switch allows instant switching between active EQ and passive operation, offering added flexibility and reliability in performance situations.
Ibanez Aero Light Machine Heads
Aero Light machine heads use Extra Super Duralumin to significantly reduce weight while maintaining tuning accuracy and durability. This improves balance and comfort, especially during long gigs.
MR5S Bridge
The MR5S bridge features adjustable saddles that allow variable string spacing by plus or minus 1.5 mm, accommodating individual playing preferences with ease.
Luminescent Side Dots
Luminescent side dot position markers ensure excellent fretboard visibility on dark stages and in low light conditions.
Gig Bag Included
Supplied with an Ibanez gig bag designed specifically to fit and protect the MDM1605.
Special Design Features
Super All Access Neck Joint
The Super All Access Neck Joint enhances overall playability by allowing easy access to the higher frets, supporting expressive playing across the full range of the instrument.
