Description
Inspired by the customized 1969 Gibson Dove given to Elvis Presley by his father, Vernon, the Gibson Elvis Dove captures the spirit of the King’s beloved stage companion. Elvis played the original Dove regularly from 1971 to 1975—including the legendary Aloha From Hawaii concert broadcast via satellite—before famously handing it to an astonished fan mid-performance in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1975.
This modern recreation stays true to that heritage with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid maple back and sides, and a mahogany neck topped with a smooth rosewood fingerboard. Outfitted with LR Baggs VTC electronics, including an under-saddle piezo pickup and discreet soundhole-mounted controls, it’s ready to shine on any stage straight out of its included hardshell case.

Cosmetically, it shows light signs of play that add to its authentic feel—there’s a small scratch on the top of the lower bout, some gentle swirl marks, and general evidence of careful use, but no dings or structural damage. Overall, it’s in excellent condition and plays beautifully—a fitting tribute to a guitar that helped define rock ’n’ roll history.
