Description

Focusing exclusively on Patrick James Eggle’s historic acoustic body designs, the Faith PJE Legacy Series sets an exceptional benchmark for professional acoustic guitars. Handcrafted in extremely small numbers, the Limited Edition Faith PJE Legacy FG7 Earth offers players the chance to experience a truly special instrument, blending heritage design, advanced tonewood treatment, and premium modern appointments.

This model is the latest guitar to be granted access to Patrick James Eggle’s highly sought after Earth body shape. The FG7 pairs a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top with solid American Claro walnut back and sides, creating a visually striking and tonally sophisticated instrument with outstanding balance and responsiveness.

The Importance of Body Shape

Faith Legacy Series guitars are built entirely around Patrick James Eggle’s original acoustic body designs. The Earth shape is based on Patrick’s historic Linville design, inspired by classic Orchestra Models. With a 15 inch lower bout, the same width as the Venus model, the Earth features slightly more refined contours for enhanced comfort.

This body size delivers exceptional versatility. It is large enough to project confidently when played unplugged, yet compact and ergonomic enough for long stage performances. As a result, the FG7 Earth is a true all rounder, suitable for players of any stature and a wide range of musical styles.

What is Torrefied Wood

To enhance tonal maturity and stability, the Sitka spruce top of the FG7 undergoes a torrefaction process. The Canadian spruce is carefully air dried before being kiln roasted under tightly controlled atmospheric and oxygen conditions. This removes nearly all natural moisture from the wood.

Once cooled, a precise level of moisture is reintroduced, bringing the tonewood back to an ideal humidity. The result is torrefied spruce with deeper colouration, improved stability, and altered cellular structure. This process allows the wood fibres to settle into a stable state far more quickly than untreated wood, replicating the tonal characteristics of a well played vintage instrument.

In practical terms, this means the FG7 delivers a rich, open sound straight out of the case, without years of playing required to reach its tonal peak.

Tonewoods and Tonal Character

The FG7 combines a solid torrefied Sitka spruce top with solid American Claro walnut back and sides. Walnut sits tonally between mahogany and rosewood, offering clarity, balance, and a refined edge.

The low end is controlled and articulate, the midrange is focused and present, and the trebles are clear and vocal. When paired with the torrefied spruce top, this combination delivers excellent note separation, fast response, and generous dynamic headroom, making the FG7 equally expressive under light fingerstyle playing or more aggressive strumming.

Design and Appointments

The dramatic burst finish showcases rich reds and burnt oranges blending into warm yellows, beautifully highlighting the natural grain of the torrefied spruce. Premium appointments complete the design, including high figure flamed maple binding, a solid figured ebony pickguard, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and bone nut, saddle, and bridge pins.

Every detail reflects the Legacy Series commitment to craftsmanship, aesthetics, and tonal performance.

Electronics

Amplification is handled by the Fishman Flex T system, combining an undersaddle piezo pickup with an internal condenser microphone. This dual source design delivers a natural, expressive amplified sound that faithfully captures the acoustic character of the FG7, making it ideal for both stage and studio use.

Case Included

The Faith PJE Legacy FG7 Earth is supplied with a high quality ABS moulded hardcase, designed to protect the guitar from changes in temperature, humidity, and everyday knocks. For best long term care, the guitar should always be stored in its case when not in use.
