Grand Chapel Studios, built within the walls of a 150 year old Methodist Chapel in central Bedfordshire, opened its doors in April this year. Since opening, it has seen a horde of talented artists come through its doors, including Theo Jackson, Lotte Mullan and Natty.

Whilst at the studio, Natty performed a live version of his track 'Steal Away', which was recorded using a Gemini II dual valve condenser microphone, an sE Rupert Neve RNR1 ribbon mic and sE4 condenser microphone. Check it out in the video below!

Ryan Pickett is the front of house and live recording engineer for the band 'My Morning Jacket'. In this interview, Ryan explains why he chose to use a selection of sE Electronics Voodoo VR1 passive ribbon mics on the band's recent summer tour. Pickett mainly used the microphones to mic up the band's amps on-stage. He was extremely impressed by how robust they were and loved their open-sounding top end and as such also makes use of them in his studio.

However, as you've probably already guessed, the samples included in this pack were captured almost exclusively with sE Electronics microphones; more specifically a pair of sE1as, a pair of sE4s, an sE 2200a, a pair of sE4400as and an sE Rupert Neve RNR1 ribbon mic.

Steve Stevens is probably best known for his guitar solo on the 'Top Gun Anthem', playing on Michael Jackson's 'Dirty Diana' and playing and songwriting with Billy Idol on his breakthrough hits, including 'White Wedding'.

In this short interview, Steve explains why he loves the sE Electronics Voodoo VR1 passive ribbon microphone for recording his guitar pieces. After being recommended to him by fellow guitarist Pete Thorn, Stevens hasn't looked back. He especially loves how the VR1 seems to sound excellent no matter where he places it, which makes the songwriting process a lot smoother.
