The Peter Eurorack Case includes 2 x 3U 104HP frames with 40 sliding nuts and bolts per 3U frame. The case is built from solid Oak and finished with Danish Oil to protect the wood and enhance the look. The inside panels are finished in matte black, which works as a nice contrast to the Walnut. At the back of the case, there is a continuous air vent and a utility cut out (60mm x 90mm) in the rear panel which is blanked off with 2 removable and interchangeable panels.
SynthRacks Eurorack Cases are all set up to accept M3 machine screws. The 104HP cases come with 40 M3 sliding square nuts for each 3U frame. Each 3U frame will also be provided with 40 M3 machine screws, which are suitable to use with the sliding nuts or with threaded rails. The case can be fitted with threaded strips if you prefer. This is a chargeable extra, please contact us if you'd like to specify threaded instead of sliding nuts.
So which one will work best for you? Sliding nuts are more economical and should allow you - by loosening the screws - to slide a module along the rail to reposition it without taking it out of the case. They will also ensure that the modules can butt up neatly to each other, which otherwise may not be possible with threaded rails due to different manufacturers tolerances of the modules face panel. However, from a users point of view the sliding nuts can be a little more fiddly to use with a slight tendency to jam. This we have found more so with hexagonal nuts and hence we only supply the square sliding nuts.
Either way, not a matter to dwell on for too long as the frame can be removed from the case without much effort and additional nuts or threaded rails can be inserted.
The Utility Cut Out
The case is supplied with 2 removable interchangeable panels that simply screw into the rear panel covering the cutout. The main purpose of this is that should you wish to install a power supply such as the Doepfer or Clicks and Clocks PSU you will need to get mains power into the case. We can supply your SynthRacks Eurorack Case with a plate housing unwired IEC C14 male connector (a kettle lead). This will occupy half of the utility cut out. The second half can remain as a vented blank panel or we can supply a plate with a variety of handy pre-punched panels. Please contact us for information and prices.
These cases don't come with power, enabling you to choose your preferred solution. Please don't hesitate to contact us for advice on powering your Eurorack system. We have qualified technicians instore who can fit a power supply to the case for you, please call for details and prices.
