The SE RN17 is the ultimate in pencil condenser perfection. It is perfect for all instrument applications. The frequency response is ultra wide from 20Hz to 20kHz and with a maximum SPL of 150dB, the RN17 is more than capable of handling any instrument you care to put it in front of.
The newly developed 17mm, gold sputtered SE capsule is the smallest production capsule in the world. It captures audio with such incredible clarity and definition that it needs to be heard to be believed. This exceptionally high quality capsule, coupled with the Rupert Neve hand wound transformer, gives this microphone a huge amount of headroom so you get ultra clean, clear and detailed sound with a wonderfully silky finish.
The SE RN17 comes fitted with a cardioid capsule but the system also has supercardioid, omni, hypercardioid and figure of 8 capsules available separately. The whole system is packaged in a beautiful wooden presentation case with a custom shock mount.
