There is a new talent show on the block, but this one is different. Presented by the JBL EON One the new nationwide search for a singer-songwriter promises to be one for the musicians rather than the popstar wannabies.

The winner of the EON One Take competition will win a EON One PA system to use at all their gigs and a day in the studio to record and mix one of their songs with multi-platinum Grammy award winning producer Steve Levine. There’s also headphones and microphones from AKG up for grabs along the way.

How does it work? Performers wanting to enter should record a video of themselves performing a song, lasting no more than 3 minutes and consisting of a single vocal and a single instrument (eg, singer and acoustic guitarist), and upload it to the EON One Take website (link may open a new tab/window in your browser). At this stage they will also select their preferred performance location (eg. Absolute Music) where they will perform if they are in the top 40 selection after a round of public voting. This performance (at Absolute Music) will be filmed and uploaded to the One Take website and again voted on by the public and a panel of experts. All performers at this stage receive an AKG P5i microphone.

The judges will select 10 runners up, who will receive a pair of AKG K702 headphones, and a Grand Prize winner who will receive the ultimate prize of a JBL EON ONE Portable PA system and a day recording and mixing with former BPI Producer of The Year, Steve Levine, at the influential Strongroom Studios in London.  The world’s leading artists have been recorded at Strongroom, including Radiohead, Bjork, ALT-J and London Grammar to name but a few.

Entry to the competition runs from 8th May 2017 and closes on 19th June 2017. For full competition information including the full list of terms and conditions please visit, eononetake.uk.
