Wow… what a product to be asked to play with… out of all the reviews that I have ever done before, this has got to be the highlight. Now, up until last month I hadn’t even heard of the Dave Smith Poly Evolver! In fact, it only came to my attention when I was recently searching through our product list for a true analogue synth keyboard - I still dream that one day I will have the budget to add a fully featured one to my home-studio set-up! For now I will just make do with the Korg Monotribe though, which incidentally is still extremely fun and can't be sniffed at at less then £200 for some true analogue goodness!

The app features the famous touchscreen Kaoss pad, allowing you to play sounds by simply stroking, tapping, or rubbing the screen with your finger. As you do this, the Kaoss screen warps and updates with colourful visual effects, just as the original instrument did!

It features an X/Y pad with assignable parameters per axis and it allows you to create custom paths (by touching and dragging) for the notes to follow, to help add interest to a sound. You can then go even deeper into the synth features by controlling the size and rates of the orbits! The Animoog app also features a polyphonic touchscreen keyboard with individual note articulation. Simply touch a key to play it and slide your finger up and down to control other aspects of the sound, giving you a huge amount of control!
Posted on October 21, 2011 by Joe StachowiakYou've seen the title, you get the idea! These little analogue synths are now available to purchase from us, featuring a ribbon keyboard with multiple modes, Electribe-style sequencing, active Step and Flux features for realtime dynamic loop manipulation, selectable oscillator waveforms, the same analogue filter as featured on the classic Korg MS-10 synth, a built in speaker, plus Sync In and Out jacks for synchronised integration of multiple units. The Korg Monotribe is the ideal portable analogue music making solution for the musician on a budget, as well as being an excellent analogue addition to any studio.

This highly entertaining review comes courtesy of Paul Syers...
Timing is everything they say… I mean, who could imagine now that when Frank Whittle built the first jet engine in 1937 it would be kind of overlooked for the first few years of its life… understandable you might say given that the World was a little preoccupied with other events at the time… but amazing nonetheless.
Fast-forward then to mid-late 2008. As the World packed its collective economies into a big box and sent them down the tip for recycling, amid this noise and fluster a little gem arrived quietly on our shores…

This review of the MicroKorg XL comes courtesy of Vince Jones...
MICROKORG XL - INTRODUCTION
The MicroKorg XL comes from Korg’s 'mini' line of devices and follows on from the massively popular original MicroKorg, which has been seen at a number of prestigious gigs including those of synth legends Devo and Jean Michel Jarre, as well as on Nick Rhodes' setup alongside a V-synth and an Alesis Andromeda, so it’s certainly keeping good company!
