Every element of the NTR, from the transformer to the ribbon element itself, has been designed and created in-house at RØDE’s headquarters in Sydney, Australia. Patrick Derivaz is a composer, performer, producer and mixing engineer who has worked with a variety of big name artists from Will.I.Am to John Cale. After recently purchasing an sE Electronics VR1 ribbon microphone Patrick was so impressed that he decided to personally write to sE Electronics to let them know how he felt!

If you've never heard of Flood (aka Mark Ellis), you will almost certainly be familiar with his work, having produced/engineered/mixed for the likes of U2, Nine Inch Nails, Orbital, PJ Harvey, The Killers, Smashing Pumpkins and many, many, MANY more! In this interview, Flood talks about his early days in the business, including playing bass in The Lambrettas and how he got his first studio job, and he also tells us why he is such a fan of Sontronics microphones.
