MACKIE DL1608 - INTRODUCTION
Mackie, who are renowned for their quality speakers and mixers, have come up with an idea that allows you to mix easily and wirelessly away from the stage with an iPad. Introducing the DL1608 digital mixer! Although announced at NAMM 2012, the 2013 industry show has introduced two further products based on this idea in the form on the Behringer (who love to copy ideas from other manufacturers!) iX16 iPad Mixer and the Mackie DL806, which is essentially a smaller 8 channel version of the 1608. You just can't help but notice how iOS devices are becoming more and more popular in serious professional music applications, providing touch-screen functionality as well as a large full-colour display for detailed feedback, which is undeniably more useful than the small LCD screens of the past. Maybe there will come a time when every piece of hardware has a facility to work with a tablet of some description.

Following on from the success of Mackie's DL1608 mixer, which makes use of an iPad, allowing you to perform live mix adjustments from anywhere in a venue, Mackie have announced that they will be releasing a smaller version, working on the same principle. The new Mackie DL806 is essentially an 8-channel DL1608 (the DL1608 is a 16-channel mixer). Featuring 8 Onyx mic preamps and high-end Cirrus Logic converters, the DL806 is a device for anyone that demands top quality audio but does not need the additional channels of the DL1608.

MACKIE SRM450V2 - INTRODUCTION
Mackie speakers have been around for quite a few years now and I have been in a few bands that have used SRM (Sound Reinforcement Monitors) speakers and I must say that I have always thought they do a very professional job, are reliable with a great build quality and sound great. However, Mackie then decided to re-design them and so they now have a version 2 range of SRM speakers on the market! I just had to find out more...
