I currently own a Digitech Whammy & so when we got our first shipment of Electro Harmonix Slammi pedals in, I couldn't resist performing a side-by-side comparison to see how it shaped up. Before going into any details, I'll cut to the chase & just say that I was very impressed!

No? Well, watch the video below by Jack Conte and if you ever get asked that question again (unlikely, we know!), you'll be able to answer "yes"! Just to be clear, this isn't animation trickery, these are actually real robots in the video! Check it out!
The new Novation Launchpad-S is brighter, faster, and more universal than the old version, now compatible with software such as Fruity Loops and of course, the iPad. As well as providing a brilliant visual performance spectacle, the Launchpad-S is a fantastically intuitive controller for software such as Ableton Live.

Hello... I'm Marc... and I'm a gear junky...! I've been playing the guitar and gigging in various bands for many years and in 2012 I got myself a job at Absolute Music to feed my habit and share my passion and knowledge of the products that I know and love. I'm going to use my blog to write short reviews of some of my favourite products to hopefully help others in their quest for finding the right gear for their needs and budget.
In this review I'm going to be talking about the Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi with Tone Wicker Distorion pedal, which I recently added to my own pedal board...

"Absolute Music is one of the BEST Electro-Harmonix dealers in the whole world."
Wow! Mike, you've made us blush! And we're being 100% truthful when we say that we think that Electro-Harmonix make some of the BEST pedals in the whole world too! Their range is simply immense! Can everyone feel the love here?!!

Next Step is essentially a line of expression-based effects pedals that contain no moving parts & instead utilise the same technology as you would find in a smartphone to ascertain the position of the pedal as you rock it back & forth. The advantages of this are two-fold: firstly, the lack of any moving parts should mean zero maintenance, as well as increased reliability &, secondly, it allows for much smoother, friction-free operation.

From simple one-knob pedals such as the Neo Clone, all the way through to some of the most complicated units on the market, the Electro-Harmonix range of stomp boxes is certainly an eclectic mix to say the least. The Ravish Sitar falls into the latter category &, after having seen many a person plug it in & stare at it in a bemused way, I thought it was time to roll my sleeves up & find out what this strange little box has to offer...
