Apogee Electronics have just announced that they will be releasing updated versions of their JAM and MiC products, with both now capable of recording with a quality of up to 24-bit/96kHz (as opposed to the 48kHz of the original units).
The Apogee JAM 96k allows you to connect your guitar to an iOS device or Mac computer, and record it to your favourite App/software with amazing detail and clarity. The JAM 96k even has an updated circuitry design, which has been created in order to bring out the 'true' tone of your instrument. It also comes with a lightning iOS cable, 30-pin iOS cable, USB Mac cable and quick start guide.
The Apogee MiC 96k is a microphone that you can hook up to your iOS device or Mac in order to record vocals or instruments to your favourite App or DAW. It comes with the same cables as the JAM 96k, but also includes a table top stand and microphone stand adapter.

As well as being a rock-solid interface for Mac computers with pristine converters and preamps, the new Apogee Duet is now also compatible with iPads. This means that if you often find yourself working with iPad apps for recording and production work, you can be sure that your interface is providing you with detailed, low noise, professional studio-quality audio. It also now features USB MIDI for hooking up to MIDI devices such as a controller keyboard.
Check out the short video below, explaining how the new Apogee One, Duet and Quartet are all now iPad compatible. Remember that if you don't use an iPad, each still works with a Mac computer, providing tight integration and super-clean audio.

First there was the Apogee Duet... then came the Focusrite Forte! Two compact interfaces with very similar designs, detailed OLED monitoring and both boasting extremely high-quality converters and microphone preamps. But, with products of such similar specs, which do you go for?
To help solve this conundrum, the guys at Pro Tools Expert have made an extremely handy comparison video, where they discuss the physical and practical differences between the interfaces and even provide downloadable stems so that you can hear recordings from each and decide which you prefer for yourself. Very handy indeed!

Apogee have announced that their professional Quartet interface is now compatible with the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch! This is fantastic news if you work with recording apps such as GarageBand, although of course the Quartet also works flawlessy with Mac computers, allowing you to pick and choose the device you work with. Plus, you can also claim a FREE Apogee 30-pin cable...
