  • NOVATION NOCTURN

Posted on November 19, 2010 by Joe Stachowiak

I’ve got to say that I’m quite a fan of Novation’s products, having previously reviewed the superb Ultranova, and being the owner of an SL61 controller keyboard. So I had no complaints at all when I was asked to take a look at the Nocturn! Let’s see if it lives up to the standards of some of it’s siblings shall we?

  • NEW AXIOM CONTROLLER KEYBOARDS

Posted on November 17, 2010 by Joe Stachowiak

The old Axiom Series of controller keyboards are products that I have used a lot, having been the kit of choice for every studio and workstation on my previous Music Technology University course (ah, how I miss my lazy student days!)

Tascam US-122Mk2 InterfaceIn this review I will be taking a closer look at the US-122MkII, a budget audio/MIDI interface from Tascam. • ALESIS IO2

Posted on November 17, 2010 by Joe Stachowiak

Now, before I start, I have to admit that I’ve recently sold my Alesis IO2 in place of a MOTU Traveler! But that’s only because I felt it was time to upgrade to something that offers a little more flexible functionality, and after five years of quality service, I can honestly say that it is hard to pick any faults with the Alesis IO2; at such a bargain price, it’s well worth the money for any small home studio. So if you want to learn why I rate the Alesis IO2 so highly, read on…

  • ABLETON WINTER CAMPAIGN

Posted on November 16, 2010 by Joe Stachowiak

Ableton are the latest company to embrace the Christmas spirit, with price cuts on both of their most popular software products: Ableton Live 8, and Ableton Live 8 Suite.

Save a cool £50 on each, with the price of Ableton Live 8 dropping to £249, and Ableton Live 8 Suite to just £449. These offers really aren't to be missed out on, considering it's getting close to Christmas shopping time (where any reduction is welcome!), and the fact that VAT is scheduled for a rise in January next year.

There are also savings to be made with the upgrade packages, as the Live Lite upgrade to Live 8 has dropped to just £219, and the Live Lite upgrade to Live 8 Suite has taken a dive to £389.
