For those who haven't bought one yet, the wait is finally over and you can now get hands on with the awesome new Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 12 analogue synthesiser in our Bournemouth pro-music superstore (CLICK HERE to find us). The Prophet 12 is a 12 voice analogue/digital hybrid synth with four oscillators per voice and loads of built-in effects. Believe us when we say that it sounds absolutely incredible!
Having demoed the Prophet 12, I have to say that its versatility completely blew me away. It could do everything from classic analogue leads and pads right through to some of the filthiest bass sounds that I'd ever heard! Just add a touch of distortion, crank up the number of voices in Unison mode and start to detune and you'll know exactly what I mean!
Wow, what a clinic! I think it's fair to say that everyone who joined us in our Bournemouth pro-music superstore last Friday was absolutely blown away by Jojo's seemingly superhuman skills on the drums. However, behind the scenes, Jojo was also dishing out a special stick warm-up exercise with Mike Dolbear. Check it out below and get practising!
Following on from my recent review of the AC Plus (CLICK HERE to read it), I thought I'd write a quick article comparing Xotic's venerable AC Booster, RC Booster & BB Preamp models. These units have become modern classics & can be found on the pedalboards of many a tone-hound (from the likes of Eric Johnson to Greg Howe), yet you'd be forgiven if you found choosing between them a little confusing. In this article I shall attempt to clear up the differences & help make your choice a little easier...
RME are renowned not only for producing professional interfaces with superior quality preamps and converters, but also for creating products that are extremely well built and reliable, with rock-solid drivers. This reputation has led to Synthax Audio UK (the UK suppliers of RME) announcing that they will provide a 5 year warranty on all new RME Audio products (excluding accessories) that are purchased from us!
As this extended warranty is administered and supported by Synthax Audio UK and not RME themselves, this offer is only available to customers buying from UK dealers such as us.
Fancy a top quality professional reverb, but running out of room on your pedalboard? How about one that's TonePrint enabled, so that you can access all the usually hidden parameters of the pedal and create completely custom sounds... or of course download presets that have been programmed by industry artists and professionals? Or perhaps you want all of this but you're working on a tight budget? Well, if this sounds like you then you're in for a treat because TC Electronic have just announced the Hall Of Fame Mini! This compact beast provides the famed sounds of the larger Hall Of Fame pedal, but simplifies its design to just one switch and one dial!
Introducing the Maschine Studio, Native Instruments' new flagship groove workstation, ideal for music production and performance. The Maschine Studio is essentially an expanded Maschine controller, adding more buttons for an improved hands-on workflow, a jog wheel for faster browsing and editing and hi-resolution colour displays, which show even more information (e.g. patterns, scenes, plug-in icons, waveforms, the new mixer, etc.), allowing you to do more without ever having to look at your computer screen.
Native Instruments have released an updated 2.0 version of their Maschine software, which provides a number of powerful new updates and tools for working with their popular Maschine, Maschine Mikro and new flagship Maschine Studio controllers. In this article we're going to look at what new features have been introduced in Maschine 2.0...
It's been a long wait but the Waldorf Pulse 2 is finally here! The original Pulse was considered by many as the ultimate analogue bass synth and for good reason! It had a HUGE, powerful sound and was even rather handy at producing tearing leads! I should know as I own one!
Anyway, the Pulse has been resurrected in a modern version 2 form. With 3 oscillators, I have to believe Waldorf when they say that the Pulse 2 is designed to "kick out the deepest bass you'll ever experience"! It features new high and band pass filter modes, an arpeggiator, 500 onboard memory slots and loads more!
The best news of all is that we now have one in stock! Grab it before someone else does!
TC Electronic have announced a new range of bass combo amps, consisting of the BG250-112, BG250-115, BG250-208 and BG250-210. Each of the amps is TonePrint-ready, so you can customise its sound by loading in your choice of professionally-programmed presets from TC's TonePrint library. You can even use the free Toneprint app to beam presets into your amp via your guitar's pickups - very futuristic! CLICK HERE to learn more about TonePrint.
Let's take a look at the range in a little more detail...
American rapper Grieves originally swore by his Akai MPC2000 sampler, but having been introduced to Reason 7 by his long-time collaborator Budo, Grieves made the switch to software and hasn't looked back!
Grieves found the visual design of Reason extremely useful and loves the way that it is equally at home on-stage as it is in the studio. In fact, the ease of transferring his studio files to a live project is one of the major hooks for Grieves. Check him out in the video below!
