HOW ISOACOUSTICS SPEAKER STANDS WORK

IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R200 Desktop Monitor StandsIsoAcoustics stands use a special patented technology to isolate your studio monitor speakers from the hard surface on which they would usually sit in order to give the truest sound possible. By suspending the speaker, energy transfer to nearby surfaces is reduced, which has the effect of creating a tighter bass and much improved stereo imaging. The stands have been receiving rave reviews from both pro- and home-studio owners for the way that they help get the most out of your monitors.

There's plenty more in the design of IsoAcoustics stands that we've not gone over yet as well, such as the way that they move with your speaker in order to keep the sound on-axis, and the way that you can customise the height and tilt in order to direct the tweeters directly at your ears. Find out more in the video below.

IsoAcoustics make a range of stands to satisfy a host of different speaker sizes. The smallest stands in the ISO series are the ISO-L8R130s, which are ideal for small studio monitors. The step up from these are the ISO-L8R155 stands, which were the first to enter the market. As you may well expect, ISO-L8R155 stands are ideal for mid-size monitors. Moving on up, ISO-L8R200s are suitable for mid to larger monitors up to around 35kg and finally there are the new ISO-L8R430 stands (soon to be uploaded on our website, give us a call on 01202 597180 for more information).

ISO-L8R430 use a 6-point mount (as opposed to the 4-point mount design of the other stands in the range), which makes them ideal for large, horizontally orientated monitors such as the amazing-sounding Focal SM9s. You can even use ISO-L8R430s for elevating guitar and bass cabinets, which works on a similar principle to elevating your studio monitors. By separating the cab from the floor surface, you are significantly reducing unwanted energy transfer, which will noticeably improve the sonic characteristics of your cab.

If you like the sound of IsoAcoustics stands but are unsure of which model would suit your speakers then thankfully IsoAcoustics provide a handy chart which points you in the right direction. Although the chart covers the vast majority of the most popular studio monitors, if your speakers aren't listed, simply find a similar sized product that is on the chart and go for the stands that are recommended for these!
