Traps Snare DrumConstellation drummer Mark Harris takes a look at the Traps Acoustic Snare Drum...

When looking at the lower price bracket of drums, one is normally left feeling a bit down, with lots of budget products that sound cheap but not terribly cheerful. The Traps snare drum however, is cheap, but it will make you cheerful!

The Traps snare drum is built very well and it feels heavy and solid. All the fittings are secure and the lugs adjust easily for simple tuning. The snare mechanism is also smooth and adjusts easily.

Tuning the drum is easy. It responds well to small adjustments and all the lugs are fitted with nylon washers so they won't vibrate out of tune.

The Traps snare drum provides a wide range of sounds. When tuned low, the drum has a big, open sound with a solid low end and a very nice, crisp top. When tuned high, the drum rings very nicely and projects very well. It is a very responsive and expressive snare drum and works well at all dynamic levels.

As well as sounding the part, it looks great too. The black finish draws the eye to the modern styled tube lugs and when surrounded by the rest of the kit and the lights on the stage, it really looks the part.

This drum offers a great way to upgrade from your starter snare, or even to add another to your collection and you will be hard pressed to find a better snare at this price.
