Are you aged 16-18? Do you want to work in the music industry?
Come to the BAMM open day at Absolute Music on Friday 26th August (12noon-3pm) to see if a BTEC Performance or Music Production Diploma is for you...
From September 2016, BAMM (the Bournemouth Academy of Modern Music) will be running BTEC music courses from the studio facilities at Absolute Music. Courses offered include Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboards/Piano, Brass, Saxophone and Vocal Performance Diplomas, plus Music Production and Songwriting Diplomas.
The two-year Music Production Diploma (Edexcel BTEC Level 3) covers all of the skills needed to start a career in music production. Modules include Music Industry Studies, Studio Production, Sequencing and Software, Digital Audio Techniques, Composing with Technology, Stylistic Awareness, Freelancing and more. Classes are held at the Absolute Music BAMM studios in a dedicated MIT computer suite, with parts of the syllabus requiring use of the on-site recording studios.
The Performance Diplomas (Edexcel BTEC Level 3) run for two years, and are designed to give young musicians the skillset to start a career in music performance. Courses are run over multiple units, broken down into practical performance lectures as well as class work. Throughout the course students are encouraged on to work with students from other courses to naturally form into bands. This in turn helps students expand their skills and individual repertoire.
Courses are full time (Monday - Friday, 9.30am - 3.00pm), and start in September with a summer break from July. Spaces for most courses are still available, and every enrolled student will receive £100 of gear from Absolute Music.
If you would like to know more, then call BAMM on 01202 590 101 or email [email protected] and come along to the BAMM open day (12 noon – 3 pm) on Friday 26th August.
