PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI Digital MixerBoom! It's another PreSonus announcement from NAMM 2013! Fans of digital mixers will be excited about this one because PreSonus have unveiled the StudioLive 32.4.2AI; a 32 channel, feature-packed mixing monster with a Firewire digital recording interface, built-in effects and Studio One Artist recording/production software included. The StudioLove 32.4.2AI is looking like an ideal product for anyone requiring plenty of connectivity in the studio or in a live venue.

The PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI features 32 mic/line inputs with high-headroom Class A XMAX mic preamplifiers and 14-aux channels. It's packed with power that provides signal processing on every channel and its digital nature means that settings are saveable and recallable. However, the StudioLive 32.4.2AI is also extremely hands on, providing a wealth of faders, buttons and dials. There's also 31-band EQ for precise frequency tweaking, six mute groups and user-assignable Quick Scene buttons. You can even create different EQ/dynamics configurations and quickly A/B between them, ensuring that you get the best possible results in any situation.

With its built-in 48x34 Firewire S800 interface, the PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI provide a super-fast way to communicate with your computer. There will also be Thunderbolt and Ethernet (Dante) expansions made available later this year. There's even a USB 2.0 port and Wi-Fi LAN adapter, allowing you to control your mix wirelessly, which is perfect for if you need to make tweaks away from the main booth. For example, you can walk around a venue to find problem spots and adjust your mix to suit from any position. All you need is an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. Awesome!

As well as the hardware, the PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI comes with a selection of software including Capture 2.0 recording software, Studio One Artist DAW and Virtual StudioLive-AI editor/librarian/control software with Smaart Measurement Technology. StudioLive Remote-AI for iPad and QMix-AI for iPhone/iPod Touch apps will also be freely available from the Apple iTunes App Store.

The PreSonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI is really a very in-depth piece of kit and there's lots more that we've not had time to go into but the information is out there if you want to discover more! Click here to visit the official PreSonus website and learn more about the StudioLive 32.4.2AI.

  • OK Presonus SLM32.4.3AI, looks fine.
Is it shrouded in secrecy, or when does it go on sale, and how much?
Got neck ache going through the web blurb.
It appears to be on sale at Sweetwater in the States?
