At NAMM 2013, Korg have announced that they will be releasing a brand new contact microphone called the CM-200. Designed especially for use with tuners, the CM-200 is perfect for attaching to brass instruments, violins, guitars or ukuleles.
The Korg CM-200 uses a piezo element, allowing it to monitor the vibrations from an attached instrument and send the information to your tuner. Tuning in this way is especially important in situations where using your tuner's built-in microphone is not convenient, such as when you are practicing with a large orchestra who are all trying to tune up at the same time!
The Korg CM-200 will be available in three different designs: black, white and black and black and red. The microphone has also been improved compared to previous versions, with a cable that transmits sounds more efficiently and that is more flexible and more durable. The clip also opens up 7mm wider compared to the previous version and the rubber inside the clip has been re-designed for a better fit.
