We've got a couple of exciting Audient announcements to tell you about, including news that there are now Windows and OS X Mavericks drivers available for their popular iD22 interface/monitor controller, as well as information on their new ASP880 preamp...
NEW DRIVERS AVAILABLE FOR iD22
So, let's start with the news that many Windows users have been waiting to hear... the iD22 is now Windows compatible! This means that Windows users can now make use of this high-quality USB 2.0 interface, which features 2 amazing class-A preamps, 24-bit/96kHz AD/DA converters, 2 inputs, 6 outputs, balanced insert points, ADAT I/O and an integrated monitor controller. The drivers are compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8 and will allow users to enjoy multi-application support for WDM and ASIO and an efficient and innovative low latency Mixer Application.
In addition, Audient have recently released Mavericks drivers for Mac users, in order to bring its compatibility right up to date.
It's no fluke that the iD22 has received rave reviews since it was released last year, and has been snapped up by a number of professional and home studio owners.
NEW AUDIENT ASP880 PREAMP
The new Audient ASP880 is an 8 channel microphone preamp with Audient's all new Burr Brown AD converter technology, along with two high-quality instrument inputs and a selection of digital outputs. The ASP880 also features variable high pass filters and 8 insert points between the mic preamps and AD converters.
However, perhaps most exciting of all for potential customers is the price, with the ASP880 coming in at less than £900; that's significantly less than the unit that it supersedes, especially given the fact that the previous unit required the digital card to be purchased separately.
