IsoAcoustics - ISO-PUCK

Despite 2017 being their first NAMM show appearance IsoAcoustics are hardly a newcomer to the scene, they have been making a huge impact with their isolation stands for monitors since 2012. At this year’s NAMM show the Canadian company will be officially launching their newly designed isolators, called the ISO-PUCK.

The new low-profile, highly flexible and scalable, round model of acoustic isolators are designed especially for pro audio speakers and subwoofers as well as musical instrument amplifiers, it also promises the same clarity and openness that IsoAcoustics has become known for. The new Iso-Puck is also exceedingly discreet, having an extremely low profile, with a height of only 1.18 inches (30mm). Just 2.3 inches (60mm) in diameter, the round shape of the new unit makes it flexible enough to be ideally positioned on any surface, including the narrow spaces atop a meter bridge.

One of the impressive things about the Iso-Puck is that they are scalable, meaning the user can stack multiple units to the desired height and match the weight of each speaker or amplifier, with each puck having a weight bearing capability of 20lbs. They are also easy to tweak and move with the IsoAcoustics logo defining the front of the unit, allowing them to be configured and turned easily to suit the supporting surface.

Using the same patented IsoAcoustics concepts as other acclaimed IsoAcoustics products, the Iso-Puck features a flange suction cup on the top which adheres to the speaker or top surface, as well as a bottom suction cup flange which adheres to the supporting surface, with a sliver ring around the bottom of the isolator to maintain shape. The energy is transferred to the core of the multipart isolator in between – resisting lateral movement and offering superior isolation – resulting in markedly improved clarity, 3-dimensional openness, and uncoloured sound.

We are really big fans of IsoAcoustics here at Absolute Music and we use them ourselves in our own in-house recording studio and many of the members of staffs’ home studios. We are looking forward to seeing the Iso-Puck in action at the NAMM show and hope to see them in stock in the next couple of months.
