RME Fireface UCX InterfaceThe Fireface UCX is is a brand new half-rack interface from RME, so you would be right to expect high quality and crystal clear sounds. Its compact size makes it an ideal choice for both studio and live recording purposes and it includes technology from the Fireface UFX, Fireface UC/400 and the Babyface. If you've ever used any of these interfaces before then this should get you very excited!

With the Fireface UCX you get the same preamps and sound quality as the aforementioned RME products, with low latency mastering grade converters. The UCX also gives you hybrid USB and Firewire connectivity, TotalMix FX (with the complete Fireface UFX DSP engine, including all effects up to 192 kHz), a monitor controller, the DIGICheck metering and analysis toolbox and support for RME's Advanced Remote Control, plus the UCX is the first professional audio interface with a Class Complient mode, meaning that you can also use it with an iPad!

The RME Fireface UCX gives you 2 Mic/Line combo inputs, a further 6 line inputs, 6 balanced line outputs, a separate stereo headphone output, S/PDIF In and Out, ADAT In and Out, Word Clock In and Out and MIDI In and Out. Plus, you also get a remote control, which has a similar design to the Babyface and can be used as a desktop monitor level controller with one level recall button and one freely programmable button.

If you're looking for an interface with exceptional sound quality, then you will do well to find anything that outperforms the Fireface UCX.
