Akai MPX8It may be small, but we're still excited about this one! The Akai MPX8 features 8 velocity- and pressure- sensitive pads, which are perfect if you just need a simple compact MIDI pad controller, but it does so much more as well...

The Akai MPX8 comes with a drag-and-drop sample editor for Mac or PC as well as a built-in sample library. You can also add your own sounds using an SD card (sold separately) and then tune samples, add reverb and save sample sets for quick-recall. This last feature makes it particularly useful for live performances - maybe you're a DJ that is looking for a new way to spice up your sets?

The Akai MPX8 can transmit MIDI via USB, although it also features a 5-pin MIDI input and output. On top of this it has an 1/8" headphone output and balanced 1/4" outputs.
