SPECTRASONICS OMG-1 MOOG FOUNDATION CONTEST

Posted on Tue 22 March 2011 in Competitions

OMG-1The perks of being an Omnisphere user just keep getting better...Back in January at the Winter Namm show, amidst the excitement of the Omnisphere 1.5 update announcement and the incredibly impressive Omni TR iPad app, one other very extraordinary and unique instrument was causing a stir on the Spectrasonics booth...

Designed by Eric Persing himself, the OMG-1 combines a Moog Little Phatty, Omnisphere, Mac Mini, dual iPads, dual iPods and Omni TR, all built within a beautiful, hand-crafted curly maple cabinet. This one-of-a-kind instrument has been offered as the grand prize for a contest that has been set up to benefit the Moog Foundation.

What does the contest involve?

Spectrasonics has produced a new Bob Moog Tribute Library containing over 700 sounds for Omnisphere created by famous composers and sound designers such as Hans Zimmer, Jordan Rudess, Danny Elfman and Synthogy's Christian Martirano.

Entrants simply need to purchase and download the pack from the Spectrasonics website, create some great music which utilises the sounds and upload their submission/s by 15th July. All proceeds from the library will go to the Bob Moog Foundation.

With last month's release of the major, and now award winning, 1.5 update, it was clear more than ever before that Omnisphere was a must-have instrument, and now, this contest gives current and potential users yet another reason to own Spectrasonics flagship power synth.
