It's that time of year again, with the National Association of Music Merchants show due to take place in California, from 23rd to 26th January. As always, NAMM showcases a plethora of new and exciting products, so we've decided to create a rolling story, which we will update as and when new gear is announced.

The iTrack Studio bundle consists of on iTrack Solo audio interface (for computers and iOS devices), a studio-quality Focusrite microphone, headphones and a mic cable. Until the end of February 2014 (or while stocks last), you can grab all of this for just £179.99! All you need is a computer and/or iPad and you've got what you need to start recording your own tracks (please note that you will need an appropriate adapter to connect to an iPad, available from the Apple store).
The iTrack Solo is a 2-in, 2-out USB 2.0 device, featuring one of Focusrite's renowned preamps, a guitar input and a stereo output. Hence, the iTrack Solo is an ideal interface for solo recording artists.
Focusrite have just announced a brand new interface, which is designed for recording to iPads and iPad Minis with a lightning port.
The iTrack Dock is a 2-in, 2-out device, which features two of Focusrite's renowned microphone preamps, as well as connections for hooking up a guitar and line level device. It also has the capability to provide phantom power and has outputs for connecting to studio monitors. Of course, there's also a headphone output.
We recently came across this excellent video, which showcases the main features of the Novation Launchpad Mini, Launch Control and Launchkey Mini, whilst also demonstrating how they can be used together. Apogee Electronics have just announced that they will be releasing updated versions of their JAM and MiC products, with both now capable of recording with a quality of up to 24-bit/96kHz (as opposed to the 48kHz of the original units).
The Apogee JAM 96k allows you to connect your guitar to an iOS device or Mac computer, and record it to your favourite App/software with amazing detail and clarity. The JAM 96k even has an updated circuitry design, which has been created in order to bring out the 'true' tone of your instrument. It also comes with a lightning iOS cable, 30-pin iOS cable, USB Mac cable and quick start guide.
The Apogee MiC 96k is a microphone that you can hook up to your iOS device or Mac in order to record vocals or instruments to your favourite App or DAW. It comes with the same cables as the JAM 96k, but also includes a table top stand and microphone stand adapter.
Check out this short video showing how the Novation Launchpad Mini can be hooked up to an iPad running the FREE Launchpad App, in order to create a hands-on, unique performance. Remember that the Launchpad App now allows you to import your own samples, as well as featuring a library of sounds when you download it.
To hook a Launchpad Mini (or Launchpad S) up to your iPad, simply purchase the relevant adapter (available separately from the Apple store), plug it in and start playing!

RME have announced that TotalMix FX (their Windows/Mac software) is now also available as an iPad App through the Apple App Store. Priced at just £2.49, the TotalMix FX App gives you control over the mixer and effects for your Class Compliant RME Fireface UCX or UFX interface.
The TotalMix FX App is compatible with any iPad running iOS version 5.0 and above. It includes all the features of the Mac/Windows TotalMix FX software, with the exception of MIDI/OSC remote control.
The Traktor Kontrol Z1 is a compact 2-channel mixer controller for Traktor Pro software and the Traktor DJ iOS app. Simply hook it up to your Mac, PC, iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch and gain instant hands-on control over two channels, with dials and faders for EQ, levels, filter and of course, the crossfader. Whether you're using it with the included Traktor LE2 software on your computer, or the Traktor DJ App (available from the App Store), the Z1 provides a great way for creating a more traditional, hands-on DJ experience.
